Arsenal have made an approach for Barcelona stopper Noberto Neto according to reports from Spain. Spanish paper Sport claims that the Gunners made their approach on Tuesday after discovering the extent of Bernd Leno’s injury.
The German stopper is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks and this has left the club short of numbers in the goalkeeping position. It is understood that the London club are looking to make a move for the stopper as an emergency signing.
Burnley stopper Joe Hart has also been linked with a move as Arsenal seek to have sufficient cover for the rest of the season. Barcelona rate Neto highly and have placed a 20m euros transfer fee.
However, Arsenal are hopeful that the Catalan club can agree on a loan deal with an option to buy. There are also speculations that Barcelona could also use Neto as a potential swap plus cash deal for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
