Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has hinted about a summer exit from parent club Real Madrid. The creative midfielder joined Arsenal on loan last summer and is set to return to the Spanish giants when his deal expires in the coming months.
Speaking with Spanish tabloid Canal Sur, Ceballos revealed his ambitions to play in the European Championship and Olympic Games in the summer of 2021.
“My objective is to play in the European Championship and Olympic Games [both in summer 2021], and when they are happening you need to find a team where you feel important.”
When quizzed on where he could be plying his trade, Ceballos revealed a surprise club that he holds dear to his heart Real Betis.
“I will not deny that my team is [Real] Betis,” he said. “It is the team that I love, the one that has made me grow as a footballer and professional.
“The feeling I have towards that club is different from all those in which I’ve been.”
This could be a subtle hint that he could be making another loan move to Andalusia next season. Arsenal are thought to be interested in making the loan deal permanent and are set to meet Madrid to discuss terms in the coming weeks.
