Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reportedly wants Arsenal to sign Ousmane Dembele this summer. Fresh from helping Arsenal win the FA Cup on Saturday the two-goal hero has asked the Gunners to pursue a move for the Barcelona attacker. That’s the news via French outlet Le10 Sport.
In a recent interview, Arteta said. “I want to build the squad around him. I think he wants to stay and it is just about getting the deal done but it has also been suggested that part of keeping the Gabon hitman may well be assurances about squad strengthening.
Arsenal will be able to offer Aubameyang European football next season but it won’t be the Champions League.
And while the north London side will probably meet any financial demands that the former Borussia Dortmund star has, he’s apparently looking for more signs of ambition from the club.
One player he would not mind seeing is Dembele, who played with Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund. The winger is now in Barcelona, where he has endured injury problems. The Gunners are looking to strengthen their side and Arteta could be willing to dispose of as many as five Arsenal first-team players as he reshapes his squad.
According to Sport, the La Liga champions will place Dembele on the transfer list this summer, even though the player would prefer to stay at Camp Nou.
Marca also recently claimed “the Frenchman is one of the transferable footballers on the squad” and the Spanish publication says Barca will take a cut-price €60m for the troublesome Frenchman in order to fund a summer swoop for Internazionale forward Lautaro Martinez.
