Chelsea will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final on August 1 at Wembley. Frank Lampard’s side were victorious over Manchester United in the semi final to set up a London Derby final.
Man United came into the match in fine form. They have not lost any since February. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have also got the better of Chelsea every time they met this season including an opening day 4-0 win.
Things will change at Wembley as Chelsea dominated proceedings early on in the match.
The Blues took a deserved lead at the stroke of halftime when Olivier Giroud poke home after a good cross from captain Cesar Azplicueta. The score will remain 1-0 till half time. Chelsea didn’t have to wait too long in the second half before doubling their lead through Mason Mount. The youngster got to a loose ball and charged through the United defence. His shot was directed at DeGea but the ball spilled from his grasp-another big howler from the goalkeeper.
Chelsea sealed the victory in the 74th minute when Maguire squeezed the ball into his own net. Man United got a consolation from the spot. But Chelsea have done enough to book a Wembley final.
