Chelsea eye Pope as Kepa replacement

According to reports from The Daily mail Chelsea remain interested in Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. They have stepped up their scouting process on the Burnley goalie in recent weeks.
Pope, 28, has kept fifteen clean sheets this season- the most in the division alongside Ederson of Manchester City.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, having grown frustrated with club record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, whose struggles in between the posts for Chelsea continued as they lost 5-3 at Anfield.

The five goals Kepa conceded at Anfield makes it 14 goals in 7 matches. A run that has made Lampard intensify the search for a replacement.

Chelsea are linked with Dean Henderson and Andre Onana of Sheffield United and Ajax respectively. The deal to sign Henderson will be complicated as his parent club Manchester United are ready to open new contract talks with the Englishman. The Red Devils have a goalkeeping conundrum of their own-as David Degea has struggled for consistency in recent months. Henderson is considered as a long term replacement.

But Chelsea believe the deal for Pope will be less complicated and they are ready to launch a bid for the towering shot stopper at the end of the season.
