Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is interested in signing West Ham star Declan Rice according to reports from England. The Blues have been busy in the transfer window already securing the signing of Hakim Ziyech and are close to completing a deal for Timo Werner.
Transfer guru Ian McGarry claims that Rice is another target for Lampard as he looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season. Speaking in a podcast, McGarry revealed that Lampard fancies the former Chelsea academy player.
“Another young player who’s making waves and is attracting attention is Declan Rice, the West Ham player, who started his time as an academy player at Chelsea and indeed is very much fancied by Chelsea with regards to a return.
He also mentioned that Lampard feels that the England international could be a commanding presence in front of the defence.
“Our information at the Transfer Window podcast is that Frank Lampard’s feeling about the player is that he could become potentially a commanding presence in Chelsea’s defence,
Rice is a player that has received plaudits since his breakthrough season and a move to Stamford Bridge could be the next step in his career.
