Manchester United are keeping tabs on Douglas Costa as they explore alternatives to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
The 29-year-old Brazilian, who had previous spells at Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich, has been at Juventus for three years.
It is believed Manchester United’s recruitment team have been closely following Costa’s progress this season as they seek to sign a wide player who can play on the right-wing.
While Jadon Sancho remains their No 1 target for that position, should that deal not come off, Costa is among the alternatives being considered by the English club. Juventus are willing to sell 29-year-old Costa as they look to regenerate under new manager Andrea Pirlo.
With the much-anticipated arrival of Dejan Kulusevski from Parma, there is bound to be somebody leaving Juventus to clear space on the roster at the right-wing position. Either of Federico Bernardeschi or Douglas Costa is likely to be shipped out as Juventus prepare for their summer transfer.
The Brazilian is headed toward leaving the Turin club after appearing in 101 matches and scoring 10 goals during his three seasons in a Juventus shirt. His time with Juve was inconsistent, as he flashed his great talents but also struggled with injuries.
Costa would cost significantly less than the 20-year-old and would still meet Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s desire to sign a winger.
